There are a number of excellent award schemes currently open for entry or nomination (including self-nomination). These awards all offer excellent PR opportunities and bragging rights. If entering your own business isn't for you this year, please think about nominating other local businesses.
An important point to note - pretty much all of the judging for these awards is done on the information within the entry form only. Therefore, to win one of these awards you should take control of your own story, nominate yourself, answer the questions in the entry forms fully and provide evidence of the claims you make. Deliver great customer service? How can you prove that in your written entry - ratings, repeat customer rate, reviews? Source unusual local ingredients? State what they are, and explain the story behind them.
Don't make any assumptions that the judges know anything about your product or your business, I'm happy to look at any draft entries if you need a hand writing them.
