Dumfries and Galloway Council has produced a guide for local businesses highlighting the importance of having a business continuity plan.
The guide has been prompted by recent support given to businesses in the food and drink and tourism sectors that have had to cope with unforeseen interruptions of business, the impact of which would have been greatly mitigated if a continuity plan had been in place.
A business continuity plan is a set of instructions of what to do at a time of crisis, setting out clear roles and responsibilities. It identifies all the requirements that are essential to keeping the business running, and lists the actions that will allow key business activities to continue during difficult circumstances.
The guide can be downloaded from the Resources section of this website.
