Dumfries and Galloway Council are exploring the idea of an accreditation scheme to highlight products that are made locally.
The scheme, which would be run by Trading Standards, would see products being assessed and accredited to ensure they are made locally. The products will also be checked to make sure they comply with all relevant UK and EU regulations. It is likely this would be a chargeable accreditation scheme.
Dumfries and Galloway Council are inviting everyone, but particularly businesses, to fill in a survey to give their thoughts on this idea.
