New grant to help you trade internationally

Scottish Enterprise have introduced a new self-service grant to support businesses develop and sell products internationally.

Called 'Make it to Market' the grant provides up to £5,000 to help SMEs innovate and export, which makes it particularly relevant to food and drink businesses in Dumfries & Galloway who are planning for growth.

To be eligible you must be a VAT registered SME based in Scotland, developing a product or service for an international market.  You must be able to finance at least 25% of the grant awarded and be able to demonstrate the financial potential of your project.

The grant can be used for a whole host of activities, including:

  • Product development (post R&D), launch and promotion
  • Packaging/branding development
  • Research market opportunities (inc translation and travel costs)
  • Feasibility studies, licensing and brand protection
  • Guidance on international contracts
  • Supply chain set-up
