New year new skills? There are a number of training courses coming up that may be of interest to food & drink businesses. A selection are below:
Springboard Chef Ambassador Course
There are a small number of free places on the next Springboard Chef Ambassador course, which will run on 21st and 22nd of February. This is appropriate to both chefs and food producers. The purpose of the course is to train enthusiastic motivated individuals to effectively promote the industry as a great place to work, but just as important promoting their place of work to potential future recruits. Galloway Glens Business Academy
The Galloway Glens project is starting a new series of monthly events for businesses that will run with a sector based focus. The first event takes place on Thursday 3st January and is titled Maximising the Income from your Accommodation Business. Future events include Growing your Creative Business on 28 Feb, and most relevant, Networking for Food Retailers and Producers on 28 March. Full details can be found on this poster.
Workplace Innovation: Introduction
Scottish Enterprise are running a half day taster workshop on innovation in Dumfries on Thursday 31st January. The course is free of charge and is designed for for business leaders within growing businesses in Scotland, who deal with issues around topics such as leadership, staff engagement and culture. Making Tax Digital
If you are VAT registered or plan to register soon, you will already be aware of the Making Tax Digital changes that will require registered businesss to submit returns using bookkeeping software. Information workshops are taking place in Dumfries on 6th February and Newton Stewart on 21st February to help businesses prepare for the changes.
